"wind turbines and right wingers"

Description

I did not point the finger at "right wingers" for the problems in TX. Some are doing just that - claiming it's a result of their isolation from the national power grid. I think it's hilarious and sad that both sides of the political isle are blaming each other for what is really a logistical and engineering problem. I'm picking the neutral side on this, bucko. It ain't a political problem. Virtually all sources of power are struggling in TX right now. A nuke plant had to shut down due to a frozen sensor. Natural gas plants are running into cold weather operation and gas supply chain issues as well. It's a complex and multifactorial issue that can't be understood by skimming right or left wing news sites or by confirming your biases. I don't know what demand level is for power in the winter, but in the dead of winter I'd think it would be a fraction of what A/C weather would draw. To blame it only on renewables seems pretty naive to me. I used the term "right winger" in relation to wind turbines because, I have a friend who fits that description, and every time we've driven past wind turbines he goes into an obnoxious, hilarious tirade about how terrible they are. It's funny to me that people are so blind with rage over technologies that don't agree with their politics. I also don't think it's the right tree to bark up. There's some context for you. But by all means, misquote me to make it seem like I'm personally attacking you and make sure you get as offended as possible for good measure. It's merely an amusing observation about attitudes toward wind turbines, nothing more.
