Summary: The primary role of the Sidewalk Assistant is to clear all sidewalks of snow and to apply de-icing chemicals. Essential Functions: Show up – Care about others – Have Fun (#1 Priority) Live by the TCLA values/morals “Purpose Driven Life”….share it Clear sidewalks of snow using snow shovels and snow blowers Apply de-icing chemicals Clean and load up trucks Load up materials Competencies: Strong Communication Skills Ethical Conduct Thoroughness Attention to Detail Work Environment: This position performs all work outside in winter weather. They may be exposed to extreme temperatures and wind chills. They will be working in snowy and icy conditions. Work is performed at all hours of the day and night. Employees must be available 24/7. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday.
