Job Skills and Responsibilities-Landscape Crew Member: • Cut turf using various sized power mowers, trimming, and edging using gas powered edger/trimmer, and operating gas-powered blowers • Properly and safely prune shrubs and low trees as needed to improve the shape or growth habit or to remove damaged branches • Plant and maintain flower beds • Properly and safely operate the edger and line trimmer along sidewalks, flower beds, trees, buildings, fences, and other objects • Pick up trash and blow leaves and other organic debris on to the turf before mowing. Mulch the leaves and organic matter when mowing. • Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe • Installs sod and plant material • Assists with lawn area grading via digging, trenching, and excavating • Must be able to work year-round in the Arizona climate. • Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with customers and coworkers • Other duties as assigned • Reliable and dependable • Must have reliable transportation to and from work • Must be able to follow company safety policies. • Self-Starter, punctual, and dependable. • Completes all tasks within time expectations. Job Skills and Responsibilities-Install Crew Member: • Drainage, irrigation, and sprinkler installation and repair • Installation of Trees, Plants, and shrubs. • Installing Riprap. • Landscape Lighting. • Synthetic Turf installation. • Digging holes or trenches. • Knowledge of turf care and maintenance, watering requirements for turf, shrub, and tree care • Attention to detail with an eye for safety hazards • Must be able to work year-round in the Arizona climate. • Maintain a polite, friendly, responsive demeanor with customers and coworkers • Other duties as assigned • Reliable and dependable • Must have reliable transportation to and from work • Must be able to follow company safety policies. • Self-Starter, punctual, and dependable. • Completes all tasks within time expectations. Job Skills and Responsibilities-Tree Climber: • Prune and remove trees per industry standards using approved arborist equipment. • Load and unload trucks daily with logs, stumps, brush, and debris and/or feeds brush into a woodchipper. Use of power equipment, chainsaws, chippers, blowers, etc. • Must have experience in tree care operations and techniques. • Must be able to read, write and comprehend job instructions and information. • Must know how to operate, maintain and service all tree care required equipment. • Must be available to work during the following when necessary: Weekends, Emergency Call Outs, Monsoon Storm Season5 year experience in climbing, pruning operations, quality customer service and teamwork • Rope and Saddle experience required. Must provide own saddle and spikes. • Knowledge of chainsaw use and safety required • Detail oriented, organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision • Must have high safety standards & Strong work ethic • Must be able to perform essential arbor care tasks, primarily the pruning of hardwoods and palms. • Perform tree removals safely using arborist knowledge of knots, power tools, climb gear and systems. • Individual must be able to safely climb, brace, and execute arbor care functions while secured in trees and palms. • Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time. • Must be able to wear necessary PPE as per task assigned. • Must be able to work with hands above head for extended periods of time. • Must be able to walk, climb, and work from ladders, or at various heights, on uneven and slippery surfaces, performing mentally/physically demanding work under unfavorable weather conditions • Uses wedges, sledges, and chain saws in felling trees or trimmed trunks and in cutting and splitting logs into manageable pieces. • Safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around work area. Cooperates with customer, police, and fire departments when blocking street or driveways. Sets up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc. to protect employees and public.
