Description

Grab your kayak or paddleboard & meet us at Harbor Park for a river clean-up and socially distanced paddle! Join us for a morning on the water, and practice your stretching as you reach for litter as we drift on by. Hot hot summer heat makes the Connecticut River an easy paddle in August. Join us, and our unofficially official tour guide, Dave from Time of Day band, as we make our way up-river to Wilcox Island and back. The cinder + salt team will be convening at Harbor Park. BYOB (as in BOAT) or paddleboard, and we'll take care of the rest. Parking is free at the park and all clean-up supplies will be provided. All attendees must wear their own PFD (personal floatation device) per state law, and sign our nifty waiver stating that if you get sunburn (among other things), your won't sue us. Please & thank you! This clean-up is in partnership with Time Of Day Band, whose mission is to play chill tiki bar tunes while you relax and sling back margaritas. This event is weather permitting; If we need to cancel due to heavy rain or inclement weather, we will reschedule for the following Sunday. If weather persists, this event will be cancelled. You may want to bring sunglasses, a jacket, your own work gloves if you have them and a water bottle/snacks. Due to Covid precautions we will not be serving water or snacks during this event. This event is kid friendly, if accompanied by a guardian. All participants you register within 1 week of this event will receive a free volunteer t-shirt. Approx one week before the event you will receive an email confirming your registration. There will be a short survey requesting your shirt size; please respond in a timely manner so that all volunteers will have a t-shirt waiting for them. Add [email protected] to your contacts to ensure you don't miss our correspondence!
