Peggy DeBray has created over 200 applique art quilts. During the trunk show, she will show samples and talk about how she creates them.
Peggy DuBray is a non-traditional quilter and specializes in original designs. Her one of a kind quilts are artful, colorful and dimensional. She has designed and quilted all of her creations for over 30 years.
Even though she uses the typical quilt sandwich, her use of the unusual applique, thread painting, embellishments, and free motion quilting patterns, have made her one of a kind designs to be art quilts. She uses a traditional sewing machine for her projects.
She has taught these unusual techniques for years. She is a member of AEM, a non-profit humanitarian organization that serves the wonderful people in Chihuahua, Mexico. For 37 years, the group has traveled there to donate food, clothing, medical supplies, books, blankets and building materials to donate to 2000 families in need. Peggy donates 10 of her original quilts every year to these mothers and babies. She has donated almost 100 quilts, each one is her own design. She also does commission work and the proceeds from the sales are donated to AEM.
