Summary The Warehouse Assistant (WA) is responsible for processing daily online, corporate & wholesale orders, organize, pack and ship product orders, maintain and organize warehouse inventory, deliver retail inventory to Ferry Building Marketplace store, pick up company orders from vendor(s). Essential Duties & Responsibilities Shipping & Warehouse maintenance • Prepare orders for daily shipment (included but not exclusively online, c-direct, corporate & wholesale): o Receive work orders and purchase orders o Collect products o Accurately match products with packing slips o Pack orders according to appropriate climate zones, sales channels and order sizes; always aware of perishability of products o Print shipping labels o Meet timeline for courier and customer pick up deadlines; working quickly and efficiently o Communicate with Fulfillment & Production teams regarding product shortages, work with Operations and/or Warehouse Manager on solution o Immediately communicate with Warehouse Manager of any issues or discrepancies o Communicate clearly with channel sales team(s) about potential complications with shipments • Maintain the shipping area and set it up for the most efficient workflow • Maintain an organized, clean & restocked work space daily • Supply Warehouse Manager with accurate inventory for shipping supplies • Assist in receiving and warehousing physical inventory of shipping supplies as needed • Assist Warehouse Manager in organizing and maintaining warehouse • Provide shipping estimates to channel sales team & online assistant • Other shipping-related duties as assigned Delivery & Pick-up in Company Van • Deliver select orders to local (corporate, wholesale) customers as needed • Make early morning deliveries to our retail store on as scheduled based on time of year needs • Pick up supplies from local vendors several times a week • Other delivery and pick-up duties as assigned Health & Safety • Sanitize shoes when entering office or other RC rooms • Wear mask at all times, sanitize work station and other equipment used throughout the course of shift • Wash hands frequently and sanitize • Ensuring the office is current on any COVID-mandated requirements from the City of SF, such as posting new signs/check-lists. • Ensure sanitization, health and safety standards as set by CDC are met • Monitor health and safety documentation and ensure it is updated on a regular basis Required Experience/Skills/Characteristics • 2-3 years minimum of shipping experience, preferably with luxury perishable goods • Critical thinking skills needed • Ability to work independently • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment • PC computer proficiency a must • Experience working with FedEx Ship Manager and/or UPS World Ship or like programs • Experience palletizing products and creating all associated paperwork: packing lists, bills of lading, invoices, etc. a plus • Experience coordinating with LTL carriers preferred • Experience conducting inventory control • Strong communication skills • Ability to lift 50 lbs. • Ability to perform deliveries on some days of the week starting at 6:00am • Valid CA Driver’s License with clean driving record • Fluent spoken and written English. Ability to speak Spanish a plus. • Schedule during peak seasons (Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter) to include some weekends Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of shipping experience, familiarity shipping luxury perishable and delicate items, effective communication skills, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work quickly and efficiently. Recchiuti Confections is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; as such, all team members must be flexible and able to prioritize and interact professionally with colleagues, vendors and customers. Compensation Compensation for this role based on experience, negotiable if higher qualifications apply. This is a +/- 40 hour per week, full-time, hourly position. Hours begin at 6:00 to 8:00 am depending on shipping & delivery requirements with the possibility of longer hours during holidays depending on the company’s needs.
