HARLEM, NY — Between 3 and 8 percent of Harlem residents have been least partially and vaccinated against the coronavirus in New York City, according to data released by the city on Tuesday. The Morningside Heights/West Harlem neighborhoods registered the highest percentage of residents who have received some form of the vaccines, according to data, which showed that in most parts of Harlem, anywhere from 4-6 percent of residents have received at least one dose, data showed. The Upper East Side ZIP code 10021 had the highest fully vaccinated rate in the borough at 16 percent. However, the city's highest vaccination rates were seen in Douglaston, Queens, and City Island, Bronx — where more than 20 percent of adult residents have got the shot. Additionally, the highest Manhattan COVID-19 infection rates by ZIP codes do not correspond with the highest vaccination rates. The Upper West Side and Upper East Side ZIP codes all have seven-day positive rates of under 3 percent, according to the latest data from the city.
