Firefighter Injured In Annapolis Blaze: Report

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Officials said an Annapolis house fire burned one crew member Monday. Medics took him to the Burn Center at Baltimore's Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, an incident report added. Doctors released him after minor treatment, the write-up clarified. Fire officials noted that neighbors reported the blaze around 8:03 p.m. in the 100 block of Lee Drive. First responders found fire on the front and side of the unoccupied, one-story, single-family home, a press release advised. A team of 43 firefighters extinguished most of the flames within 15 minutes and controlled the entire blaze within another 15, the report indicated. The Annapolis Fire Department and the Naval Support Activity Annapolis Fire Department supported the Anne Arundel County Fire Department's response. Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire. They do not know whether the home had working smoke alarms, and they do not have an estimated dollar loss.
