KENDALL COUNTY, IL — Kendall County's positivity rate dipped to 7.9 percent as of Friday, the lowest it's been in four months, public health data shows.
That's down nearly 61 percent from its all-time high of 20.5 percent in mid-November as coronavirus cases surged in the area. Prior to this, the last time Kendall County's positivity rate was under 8 percent was Oct. 10, according to statistics from the Illinois Department of Public Health.
On Friday, the positivity rate in Region 2 — which Kendall County is a part of — dropped to 4.1 percent, which is also a four-month low. The region's positivity rate peaked at 16.7 percent on Nov. 12.
The Kendall County Health Department on Monday reported 10,816 COVID-19 cases with 5,908 in recovery and 81 deaths.
