ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving drugs, smashed windows, an underage drinking party, theft, DUIs and driving violations. Here is information from the latest police reports: Drugs Sam A. Calascibetta, 33, of Carol Stream, was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Thursday at North and Ferndale on charges of possession of a controlled substance, operating an uninsured vehicle and unlawful display of registration. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail. According to a police report, he was found to be in possession of crack cocaine. Smashed windows A delivery driver parked his car about 9 p.m. Friday at Mangia Napoli Pizzeria, 940 N. York St. Upon returning to his car, he found the front and back windows smashed. Video footage showed a silver Toyota pull in front of the victim's car. The cost to repair the damage was estimated at $750. An investigation is pending. Gun turned in A resident in the 700 block of Berkley Avenue on Saturday relinquished a Burnside rifle that he no longer wanted. The rifle was submitted into evidence for destruction. Underage drinking party An underage drinking party was reported about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Alexander Boulevard. Four people were cited on charges of consumption of alcohol by minors. Theft A resident in the 100 block of West Armitage Avenue told police Thursday that he allowed a person to borrow his 2013 black Toyota Prius for about three hours. The person did not return it. A woman informed police Sunday that someone entered her unlocked storage unit and stole three televisions and important documents belonging to her and her two sons. The theft occurred between Nov. 1 and Feb. 14. DUI Nicolas D. Diaz, 26, of Elmhurst, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at York and Diversey on charges of DUI, speeding, improper lane usage, disobeying a traffic control device and failure to signal. He was released on bond. Kyle B. Bruzzini, 28, of Melrose Park, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Saturday at Armitage and Myrtle on charges of DUI and unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver. He was released on bond. Danilza M. Lopez Sosa, 32, of Addison, was arrested about 4 a.m. Sunday at Route 83 and North on charges of DUI and disobeying a traffic control device. She was released on bond. Driving violations Dishon D. Thomas, 35, of Hillside, was cited about 11:30 p.m. Saturday at Butterfield and Cadwell on charges of possession of marijuana by a driver and improper lane usage. He was released on bond. Elbert Scuefield Jr., 27, of Chicago, was cited about 3 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of West Butterfield on charges of driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, possession of alcohol in public and obstructing a police officer. He was released on bond. Alberto M. Rojas, 33, of Melrose Park, was cited about 10 a.m. Friday at Route 83 and Lorraine on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, expired registration and no seat belt. He was released on bond. Tatanna Phillips, 20, of Chicago, was cited about 10 p.m. Sunday at St. Charles and Chandler on charges of no valid driver's license and operating a vehicle with one headlight. She was released on bond. Warrant Angie P. Nicasio Sanchez, 26, of Franklin Park, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Friday at Clinton and North on a Schiller Park Police Department warrant. In the same incident, Jennifer A. Soberanis, 26, of Franklin Park, was cited on charges of operating an uninsured motor vehicle and speeding. They were released on bond. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt.
