As a part time veterinary assistant, your main duties are to support veterinarians and technicians in their daily tasks, always with a focus on ensuring the efficient delivery of great client care. The responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: Cleaning and Maintenance -Clean and sterilize examination and operating rooms. -Clean and sterilize relevant tools and equipment -General hospital cleaning, including floors, cages, litter boxes and more -Do laundry, take out the trash and recycling, cleaning treatment areas and bathrooms Animal / Medical Process Assistance -Gentle and compassionate care of patients. -Feed, bathe and exercise animals -Restrain or "hold" animals during examinations and treatment -Draw blood -Collecting urine samples -Administer medicine and vaccinations -Help prepare animals for surgery -Fill prescriptions Occasional Receptionist Duties -Client communication --Checking Clients in --Answering phones and make appointments as needed. -Helping in the front area whenever needed
