Labor Finders is IMMEDIATELY looking to hire a MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN / HANDY PERSON for our area client that has a long-term need. Pay: $16-$17/Hour Job Site Location: Palm Springs, CA (work sites in various locations) Position: Maintenance Technician (Residential) Length: Potential Temp-To-Hire for a qualified, reliable candidate. Benefits: After completion of probationary period, benefits will be offered. Hours: Must be flexible to work various hours and days, including weekends. Job description: This position will required various skills sets. The following duties are examples of some of the duties that would be required for this position. -Maintenance and repairs, including basic electrical, plumbing, patching walls/drywall, installation of appliances, changing out locks, testing & installing smoke alarms, painting, etc. -Assist with moving of furniture, furniture, items, and cleaning of client units when vacated. -Preparing client units for move-in. -Preparation and monitoring for safety inspections. -Complete necessary paperwork for various aspects of the job. -Reporting and documentation of tenant violations. -Complete various types of work orders for assigned units. -Interaction with clients, residents, vendors & property management staff. -On-call duties for after-hour emergencies. -Various other duties as assigned Skill Requirements: -2 years of experience in property maintenance -Must have a variety of maintenance skills including basic electrical, plumbing, drywall and other construction skills needed for touch-up/repair (painting, patching holes, changing bulbs, and other various tasks as needed). -Ability to work independently. -Ability to relate to a diverse mix of people and their needs, including individuals with low income or who are coming out of homelessness. -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. -Computer Skills: · Ability to proficiently use Word, Outlook, & Excel. -Ability to write clear and precise emails and other forms of documentation. -Ability to make good, logical decisions. -Ability to deal with problems involving mathematical variables. -Lifting up to up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. -Ability to lift, stand, walk, sit and drive on a regular basis and to perform various types of physical activity. Examples include, but are not limited to: climbing, reaching, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, loading, unloading, etc. Additional Requirements: -Must be able to pass a LiveScan and be willing to submit to a pre-assignment background screen. -Pre-Assignment drug test. -Minimum 18 years of age to apply. -Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record and current insurance. Your personal vehicle will not be needed all the time, but when it is required for the job, mileage will be reimbursed. -This position requires driving throughout Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs and Coachella Valley.
