Compensation: Hourly; $18 - $20 per hour Employment Type: Full-time Benefits: Annual 3% - 4% raise; all full-time employee benefits Job Description: Working with road maintenance crews to maintain diesel/gas/hydraulic equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance, correcting vehicle deficiencies, making adjustments and alignments and keeping records. This position must be willing to travel within a 350 mile radius of Nashville, TN Job Conditions: Seasonal - Can be Extreme heat or extreme cold Job Qualifications: -Listening/Communication Skills -Knowledge of Tooling, Supply Management/Inventory Control -Mechanical and Technical Skills -Troubleshooting Skills -Attention to Detail -Integrity and Honesty -Willingness to Learn on the Job -Knowledge of the English Language -OSHA 10 and PPE Required - Valid US Driver’s license Job Responsibilities: -Work with operators to assess what needs to be done to repair equipment -Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts -Keeping equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion and completing winterization procedures -Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems; such as: power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics -Complete machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches and traction units -Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives and adjusting controls and systems -Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs -Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs -Contain costs by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options -Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders and verifying receipts To Apply: Please send resume and cover letter to email address provided and answer the following questions: -Do you possess a valid US drivers license? -Are you able to supply your own tools? -Do you have at least 5 years experience as a mechanic? -Are you willing to travel within a 350 miles radius for this position?
