Description
I'm back in the Midwest. Just moved from Sacramento and will be in Cambridge/Madison in a couple of weeks. I'm a native. Cali was great, but it's time to come home. Let's talk. My last two gigs in CA were these guys https://dadsimpala.rocks and this solo original project https://thecausewayband.com I have an album's worth of original material. Since it's a debut, I'm hearing comparisons to R.E.M. and Foos. Fair enough. We emulate our influences while we find our unique voice. I've got one single finished, mixed and mastered. Here it is. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eEV_jGWM6pG_q_tG9RLGCOqF70mDwEhC/view?usp=sharing I'd like to start a new band here. Performing all of the originals, including a handful of covers when we play out, and the opportunity to collaborate in writing new material. As soon as Covid calms down, we could start. I'm posting now because it's going to take a while to find you. You: 35-55. Played in bands before an absolute must. No bedroom warriors. Recording experience preferred but not required. You have good personal gear. You want to play out 1-2 nights a month. You want to learn how to write music or simply ad-lib riffs I feed you. You may have kids and other distractions, and want to balance family with this passion. * Lead guitar ( for more intricate phrasings, not many solos) * Drums * Bassist * Keyboardist for recording sessions * Vocalist for recording sessions and possibly live as well My last band was a rare animal: No fights over the set list, no beefs over anything. We were 5 best friends. I mean we NEVER EVER had beef. We loved to play music, and were willing to compromise without tantrums. That's a rare quality indeed. It sure would be nice to repeat that. So you are chill, you care about the big picture, you're willing to play some songs you do not love but you do it because you love playing with us. You still have the fire inside. You want to learn and stretch a little. You want to stop playing the same tired covers and do some fresh stuff. You want your name on The Causeway liner notes. You want to play with new friends. Is this you? Let's talk. No rush to get together, obviously, but I'm excited to have some conversations. Imagine the fun we can have.
