Description

DESCRIPTION Position in small business using goats to remove invasive vegetation. Includes assistance with animal care and transport, brush clearing, erecting portable fencing and assorted landscaping, pasture maintenance and animal care tasks. The work can sometimes be dirty, hot and buggy. It can also be fun, especially if you like animals and being active during your workday. The goats are very tame, our customers are great and it is a lot of fun to see customers and whole neighborhoods enjoy the goats. Must have car and phone. Business is based in Chapel Hill, but we work at locations throughout the triangle area. TASKS Animal loading and transport Clearing brush and installing portable electric fence Removing plants toxic to goats and protection of desirable vegetation Weed whacking Mulch spreading Representing business to customers and the public Animal care and feeding Assorted building/fixing/repair tasks. Barn and farm clean up. Fence repair and installation APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS: 1. Must be willing to pay attention to detail. The work is not rocket science, but ensuring that the trailer is properly hooked up, the fence is properly installed and charged, and the goats are safe is ESSENTIAL to the job and the business. 2. Must be a proactive worker who enjoys working as part of a small team (usually with 1-3 other people). This means learning the tasks and the routine and jumping in to get things done, rather than waiting to be told to perform each task. 2. Must be very RELIABLE (our customers schedule weeks in advance and usually at least two people are needed on the job, so if someone does not show up, we have to cancel the job for that day). 3. Must have some flexibility and be able to work weekends some of the time. I can schedule around specific or special days you need off, but in general, the work happens on both weekdays and weekends and we need someone who has flexibility. 4.
