The Facilities Maintenance Technician helps to ensure a safe and secure property by providing all aspects of the overall cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of our Peabody facilities. Day to day you will maintain the building complex through basic repairs, preventative maintenance, cleaning, light construction, plumbing, electrical, and facilities cleanliness and sanitization. You will also be responsible for maintaining the grounds of the facility including snow removal and sidewalk care as well as lawn care and landscaping. This role requires flexibility and the ability to respond in the event of an emergency, hours may vary, but will typically follow a traditional Monday-Friday schedule. To thrive in this position you should have previous experience in manual trades and demonstrable knowledge of building equipment related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repair. You are able to prioritize daily tasks while working both independently and as a facilities team. You have strong time management skills, build positive and authentic relationships through daily interactions with members and the community. Qualifications • Must be 18 years or older with high school diploma or equivalent • Must have valid MA driver’s license and/ or reliable transportation PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to: climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for an extended period of time, climb ladders, walk, shovel snow, plow snow, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity. The work is performed both indoors and out, and may require travel to various locations.
