POSITION SUMMARY: Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, etc. We are looking to hire people with a clean driver's license that can work alongside the other crew members. Experience is preferred but we will train the right person. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Locate, operate and store the Leaf Rake and the Hoe/Steel Rake Locate, operate and sharpen the shovel Operate 52” Rider Mower in a straight line and lake banks Roll up, store, and caring for the Water Hose Operate 48” Stand On in a straight line and lake banks Operate, change string, refueling procedures for the Line Trimmer Operate, change blade, refueling procedures for the Edger Report any broken or poorly operating equipment, follow repair procedure Operate the Back Sprayer and follow procedures for chemicals rates, overspray and filling Operate the Hand Pruners, do proper cuts, caring and follow the safety procedures Operate the Blower and follow safety procedures and techniques for refueling Help load and unload work truck. Help keep work truck clean and organized. Walks job site and removes all trash, large weeds, and debris that will interfere with mowers or other equipment, as soon as they are seen. Removes all trash and debris from main building entrances. Makes sure all tools, burlaps, and trash are removed from the job before leaving. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES : Ability to work well with others. Proven ability to work independently to achieve accomplishments Mature, energetic with a ‘let’s roll up our sleeves’ attitude which is especially important in a small but growing organization. Proven ability to effectively collaborate with internal team, cross-functional team, and external parties in a rapidly growing environment. Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. REQUIREMENTS Florida Driver's License clear of DUI's and points. Minimum one year of Commercial Landscaping is preferred. Prior experience using the following tools: Leaf Rake, Hoe/Steel Rake, Shovel, Water Hose, Line Trimmer, Edger, Broken or identify Poorly Operating Equipment, Backpack Sprayer, Hand Pruners, Blower. Ability to follow instructions Knowledge of equipment, materials, chemicals, methods and practices used in gardening work. The ability to make decisions and work independently.
