Description
Energy Efficiency at the new Dale Street School - Public ForumA Net Zero building uses only the energy it can generate. What would "going Net Zero" mean for the Dale Street School Project?
On Thursday February 25th at 7pm, the Dale Street Sustainability Subcommittee of the Dale Street School Building Committee and the Medfield Energy Committee will hold a community forum on the energy efficiency options for the new school.
Hear from Arrowstreet, the Dale Street School architect, about the design considerations to be made over the next two months related to energy efficiency and net zero emissions.
This is an opportunity to learn about the environmental concepts and design considerations so that when the technical analysis, first cost, lifetime cost, and savings data are available, there is community understanding of the concepts. A net zero building uses only as much energy as it can generate and being able to achieve that is a function of the building design. Among the design considerations are fuel type, envelope efficiency, mechanical systems, solar power and battery storage. We will also discuss other areas of building performance/sustainability related to the building design.
As an added feature, representatives from Eversource will be available to discuss how these concepts can apply to your home. Learn how to work toward maximum energy efficiency and reduce your energy costs and reliance on fossil fuels. Join us Thursday February 25th at 7pm via zoom to learn more.
