Overlook Hospital In Summit Named Among Top 50 In Country

SUMMIT, NJ — Atlantic Health System's Overlook Medical Center in Summit received the Healthgrades 2020 America's 50 Best Hospitals Award last week, for the first time. Overlook had previously been recognized by Healthgrades for three consecutive years as one of 'America's 100 Best Hospitals.' Its continued drive to enhance quality led Healthgrades to recognize it among the 50 best, said a spokesperson. The list of the top 50 in the United States is here. Only two in New Jersey made the list: Overlook and Morristown Medical Center. Local dignitaries joined Overlook team members at the hospital recently to celebrate the achievement. The distinction places Overlook in the top 1 percent of nearly 4,500 hospitals assessed nationwide, said a release, "for its consistent, year-over-year superior clinical performance as measured by Healthgrades, the leading resource that connects consumers, physicians and health systems."
