Sellers said the victim, who is pregnant with Johnson's child, was transported from the scene to DCH Regional Medical Center to receive medical treatment for injuries not believed to be life-threatening, but said no information is available about the status of the unborn baby. He then said multiple witnesses cooperated with investigators, resulting in 22-year-old Canaan Johnson being charged with two counts of attempted murder and first degree kidnapping. The Tuscaloosa Police Department said witnesses reporting that the woman exited the Kia driven by Johnson, before he made a U-turn and struck her. He is currently in the Tuscaloosa County Jail with a combined bond of $180,000. Follow Patch here for updates or on Facebook and Twitter.
