Farm Handyman / Mechanic (Spencer, MA) We are hiring for a Farm Mechanic/Handiman/Handywoman. Responsibilities include maintenance and repair of farm machinery including trucks, tractors, and tractor implements, in addition to some equipment operation. This position involves maintaining service records for all equipment, maintaining shop tools and equipment, light metal fabrication, troubleshooting maintenance and repair issues, equipment operation during the busy season and "handyman" work on farm buildings. Applicants should have experience with tractors and farming equipment, metal fabrication, welding, and familiarity with engines and shop tools. Carpentry, plumbing, and electrical experience are also desired. This is a position requiring close attention to detail, good communication skills, and a flexible schedule. If you view yourself as a Jack (or Jill) of all trades, you would fit in well. The position is full time or part-time depending on the abilities of the person. Work varies in intensity and type with the different seasons. The normal work week is Monday-Friday, but some weekend hours will be required. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
