Immediate opening on our organic farm for a committed, experienced person to join our staff as a dairy goat herd worker to take the lead in caring for our goat herd (approx. 55 milkers, 30 yearlings). Duties and responsibilities include general health of herd (feeding, hoof trimming), care, cleaning and repair of animal habitats and milk parlor, directing pasture rotation, management and fencing, milking and monitoring production records. There will also be opportunities to support the work of the make room and the horticulture staff. You must be: 1) fastidiously clean and organized; 2) able to multi-task; 3) capable of detailed record-keeping; 4) a team player who can integrate with other farm operations and managers; 5) flexible but not spineless; 6) able to work alone with limited supervision. Experience in a commercial kitchen or as a cook/chef is a plus, as is ability to speak Spanish. Onsite housing for single worker or couple may be available.
