Description
Pre-pandemic I had a four-piece band, and we played both original and cover material all around Michigan. Over the past year, members have moved, and we've all taken a break from gigging. Now that the vaccine is beginning to roll out, I'm itching to connect with other musicians again and, even if we can't rehearse quite yet, I'd like to see who's out there and looking to jam.
I'm a rhythm guitarist and vocalist in my late 20s. I play a lot of classic country western and folk music, jazz, rock, and experiemental. I'd probably call a lot of it Americana as a catch-all. I take a lot of influences from
Joan Baez, Freddy Fender, Glen Campbell, Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, Lucinda Williams, Charley Pride, Odetta, Rickie Lee Jones, Tom Waits, Bonnie Raitt et al. Because cr@igslist is a strange and nebulous place, I'd prefer not to post my demos, bandcamp or personal info. here. So, if any of this appeals to you, feel free to message me, and I can give you a little more information. I don't have an ideal lineup in mind. I'm definitely looking for a bassist, drummer, and lead guitarist. But fiddlers, mouth organists, singers etc.-- all awesome too, and I'm always excited to just connect with more musicians.
I'll say this upfront because I feel it's super important: when I hire bandmates, I make sure I can at least pull $100 per person before I book a gig. I don't believe in beating around the bush with that sort of thing, and I believe in transparency.
