PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Pharmacies in Park Slope are among more than 250 pharmacy locations across the city that are now administering COVID-19 vaccines to seniors. Three neighborhood pharmacies are offering vaccination appointments to anyone 65 and older as part of a federal program. Participating pharmacies in the neighborhood, and nearby, include: Walgreens/Duane Reade at 296 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, 11217 Rite Aid Pharmacy at 249 7th Avenue, Brooklyn, 11215 Walgreens/Duane Reade at 462 Fifth Avenue, Brooklyn, 11215The Federal Retail Pharmacy Program will deliver 26,500 vaccine doses a week to Walgreens, Duane Reade, Costco and Rite Aid pharmacies across New York City, officials announced Thursday. "Pharmacies are a trusted part of our infrastructure, particularly for seniors who rely on them for medications and other services," Dave Chokshi, the city's health commissioner, said in a statement. "These additional doses will be a lifeline for so many city residents." Other vaccine sites are also open around Park Slope, including at city hospitals and medical clinics.
