Press release from the City of Eden Prairie: February 12, 2021 City Accepting Nominations for Human Rights Award The City is now accepting nominations for the annual Human Rights Award, which recognizes inspiring efforts that work to promote human rights and diversity, and to create an inclusive community spirit. Awards are given to an outstanding individual, non-profit organization, youth and business. The deadline for nominations is 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28. Visit edenprairie.org/HumanRightsAward for more details. Firefighter Recruitment The Fire Department has begun its annual recruitment process. The department is authorized for 95 paid on-call firefighters operating out of four stations and responds to about 2,000 calls per year. Applications are due Thursday, March 4, learn more and apply at edenprairie.org/EPFDRecruiting. 2021 Adopted City Budget The 2021 Adopted City Budget [PDF] document is now available. Commission Candidate Interviews The deadline for submitting applications to be considered for a City board or commission appointment has passed. We are pleased to report that we have received a large number of applications. The City Council will interview candidates Tuesday, Feb. 23 in the City Center Heritage Rooms and virtually. Winter Scavenger Hunt Parks and Recreation is partnering with SCHEELS to present a Winter Scavenger Hunt throughout the City's parks during the month of February. All items are permanent structures within Eden Prairie parks, and are viewable from parking lots, trails, etc. No need for climbing, off-roading or entering sensitive habitats.
