Press release from the City of Millbrae: February 11, 2021 Following the Pledge of Allegiance, the Millbrae City Council presented a proclamation proclaiming February as Black History Month. The City Council viewed a 2020 annual recap video spotlighting Millbrae Community Television's (MCTV) work and coverage the past year. Millbrae City Manager Tom Williams and City department directors presented the 2020 Employee Performance Recognition Awards Winners. This year's Rising Star Award was presented to Nick Tippins in Public Works. The Creative Innovator Award was presented to Dominic Zertuche in Public Works. The Administration Department's MVP Award was presented to Elaine Tran (City Clerk). The Community Development Department's MVP Award was presented to Roscoe Mata (Planning Manager). The Finance Department's MVP Award was presented to Wayne Loo (Financial Services Manager. The Public Works Department's MVP Award was presented to John Gianoli (Public Works Supervisor). The Recreation Department's MVP Award was presented to Hannah Moran (Recreation Coordinator). The Employee of the Year Award was presented to Amalia Pena in the Finance Department. The City Council unanimously approved items 5 and 6 on the consent calendar: Item 5 - Receive and File Monthly General Fund Financial Report for the Period Ending December 31, 2020. Item 6 - Resolution Awarding a Professional Services Agreement to Lee + Ro, Inc. in an Amount Not-to-Exceed $199,009 for the Design Services of the Cogeneration System Replacement Project at The City Sewer Treatment Plant. Item 7 – The Council unanimously adopted Resolutions Approving the Refunding of the 2009 Series A and Series B Wastewater Certificates of Participation (COPs) and the 2009 State Water Resources Control Board Loan (SRF) by the Millbrae Public Financing Authority in the Maximum Principal Amount of $28,000,000. Item 8 – The Council unanimously waived the first ready and introduced an Ordinance Repealing Chapter 6.40 of the Millbrae Municipal Code and Adopting a New Chapter 6.40 Regulating the use of Disposable Food Service Ware by Food Facilities and City Facilities. Item 9 - The City Council received and informational report on SB 1383 - Reducing Short-Lived Climate Pollutants in California. Item 10 – The Council unanimously approved a Resolution Authorizing City Manager to Execute the Program Supplemental Agreement No. V69 to Administering Agency-State Agreement for State Funded Projects No. 00029S for Citywide Safety Assessment for Local Roads Plan Grant. Item 11 – By the vote of 4-0-1 with Vice Mayor Oliva excused, the Council adopted a Resolution Authorizing the Director of Public Works to Sign a Transportation Funds for Clean Air Grant Agreement for Pedestrian Bulbout and Crosswalk Improvements on Millbrae Avenue/ Poplar Avenue and Helen Drive/ Tioga Drive Traffic Calming Project.
