Basically, as a long time (gen x age influences) solo and small act guitarist and solid singer, I've feel I've been at my best collaborating with female melody and harmony. Looking for an experienced, or not, singer and guitarist, or any instrumentalist - guitars are just so much more mobile! Lot of wonderful experience in this collaborative form, first in college with a coed singer and guitarist doing covers done by Michelle Shocked, Lucinda Williams, Tracy Chapman, Nanci Griffith, Shawn Colvin etc. - went over really well. We're still in touch, but about 900 miles apart! My day job in education has always included a music program in the building, in such one out in LA 15 years ago, local working female musicians I knew were invited in for collaborative sessions with budding female singers and players in the school - really cool s.... So now, ultimately seek to pick those songs, readily learnable, of any source female led, with me on harmony as a goal - these days its also so easy to have the tablet in front of you scrolling lyrics, so that's a learning curve bonus. I haven't chased down gigs regularly for a few years, still have OBX gig connections, but I do now look at the wineries, and the breweries as the new bars, and would be the main focus for gigs as an initial goal by Spring. Fun guy to play with here, hopefully I'll hear. Oh yea, here's a picture of my programs conveyance I picked up when I taught in LA.
