Description
We’re looking for a cheerful, hardworking, part-time urban farmer. Duties include a wide range of physically demanding, outdoor tasks, including assembling and transporting garden beds, and moving huge piles of soil with a shovel and wheelbarrow. Physical strength and endurance, along with a positive demeanor in all kinds of weather, is absolutely essential to be on our team. Basic knowledge about carpentry, or at least intermediate handiness and an ability to learn quickly are a huge plus. This is highly seasonal work and the hours vary week to week. It’s an ideal job for a college student or someone with a similar flexible schedule that wants supplemental income.
Think this job may be right for you? We’d love to hear from you. But before you reply, please ask yourself : Does my work history show a tangled maze of job hopping - each short-lived job paired with an iffy story about how my employer let me down again? Can I really stay cheerful and upbeat - perhaps even inspiring the rest of the team to follow my example - when it’s scorching hot outside? Am I physically strong enough to lift heavy heavy things and keep doing it for hours at a time - outdoors, in all kinds of weather?
If you still think you’re up to the challenge, please send your resume, or at least your work history, along with a short paragraph or two explaining what it is about you - experience, skills, work history, etc. - that makes you a good fit for this job.
