Carpenter / Crating and Packaging Technician

Craters & Freighters is a high-volume custom crating, packaging, and shipping company. We are looking for hardworking individuals with carpentry and/or packaging experience to work as a Crating and Packaging Technician. This position involves building custom wooden crates and packaging items in our warehouse. Items range from delicate high-end artwork to large industrial machinery. May also weigh and measure items received in our warehouse prior to packaging. In addition to warehouse work, this position may involve crating items onsite and loading and unloading trucks. Qualifications: • Prefer some carpentry skills, may have experience with basic power tools to include: o Panel saw, Table saw, Chop saw, Band saw, Various Hand Saws / Pneumatic Nail Guns / Tools / Drills • We will provide training for crate building, packaging, and warehouse procedures • Must have a clear understanding of using a tape measure • Must have a strong attention to detail and perform high quality work • Must have a desire to learn with the ability to take direction and accept constructive feedback • Must be a team player and able to work in fast paced environment meeting customer deadlines • Must be reliable and punctual • Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs and load items on and off a truck when necessary • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Benefits: • Pay = $15.00/hr to start (pay increases commensurate with ability and performance) • Medical, dental, vision and life insurance benefits – employer pays portion • Retirement plan - with company match to 3% • 8 paid holidays – eligible after 90 days of employment • One week paid vacation - after one year of service • Room for advancement and growth with the company • Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm If interested, please submit resume.
