Mission City Construction, Inc offers Excellent opportunity for entry level construction laborers with Santa Clara based established design/build firm specializing in new custom homes and high end commercial improvements. If you enjoy working for a firm where safety and quality come first, this is the place for you! Job Description: Entry level labor position. You will apprentice and learn trades including structural concrete, framing, finish carpentry and millwork, plumbing as well as grading and drainage operations. As an entry level apprentice, you will often be required to physically demanding tasks such as digging, moving lumber, equipment maintenance, and general cleaning/clean up. As your skills develop you will be more valuable in other roles. Responsibilities: Apprentice journeymen in trade performed in house Operate and care for construction equipment, machines, and instruments. Prepare and clean-up construction sites Load and unload construction materials Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding. Remove, fill, and compact earth. Perform other activities such pouring and breaking concrete, framing, striping forms, setting braces to support the side of excavations, and installing pipes. Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary Follow instructions from supervisors. Ask questions if unsure of how to complete tasks. Be ready to learn from the on-the-job training when necessary Always be safe Requirements: Must be hard working Able to lift and move heavy objects of up to 70lbs Able to work in variable weather conditions. Able to navigate construction site terrain and build space. You will need the ability to crawl, climb, and work in confined spaces. Fluent English a must, Spanish a plus Must be courteous and polite Must have reliable transportation and clean DMV record Must be motivated to learn the MCC, Inc. way of business Hourly Position – Pay based on experience – no experience applicants will start at $20 per hour. Opportunity for a raises quarterly. Starting pay may be higher if compelling information is provided to support skills.
