Maintenance Technician (s) Non-Exempt Position Essential Job Duties: Trouble-shoot, the source of reported problem, diagnose and take appropriate action to repair and restore service with appliances, ventilation, electrical, and plumbing. Repairs or change-outs include but not limited to dishwasher motors, garbage disposals, icemakers, stove elements, refrigerators, washers, dryers, etc. Complete the following: lock installations, appliance installations, detailing turnover units, carpentry, drywall installation, and sheetrock repairs. Typical Physical Demands: Heavy lifting, climbing, stooping, laying (such as under sinks or in basements), standing, walking (including stairs), reaching overhead, repetitive movement. Typical working conditions: The Maintenance Technician will be required to work on all SPM Commercial and Residential properties throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. • Must perform "On-Call Duties" and handle emergency service as needed. • Hours will include weekdays, weekends, and evenings. Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a valid California Driver's License, the ability to provide proof of automobile insurance, and a good driving record. • Must reside within 45 miles of main office location in Walnut Creek to perform "On-Call Duties" on an emergency basis during assigned rotation. • High School diploma or equivalent is required, and two or more years direct experience in apartment maintenance or three or more years in a related field. Skills: Basic written and strong oral communication required. Attention to detail and strong customer service skills highly desired. Must have a reliable means of transportation and own tools.
