JAPAN AUTO CARE IS NOW HIRING! We have an immediate opening for a FULL TIME Automotive Technician at our shop in Orangevale! ABOUT US: We are an independent automotive repair shop with over 30 years in business. We are open Monday through Friday (NO WEEKENDS!) and we offer great hourly pay (NOT FLAT RATE!) as well as medical benefits, paid sick days, paid holidays, and a great team environment. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN A TECHNICIAN: We are looking for an Auto Technician / Mechanic with experience and great repair & diagnostic skills - specializing in Asian vehicles including Subaru, Honda, Lexus, Acura, Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi etc. • Minimum of 5 years experience (experience with Japanese cars is a plus) • Must have great mechanical understanding of all automotive systems • Must be able to properly diagnose both basic and complex issues (ie.check engine light, evap, drivability, etc). • Be knowledgeable in testing procedures • Perform high quality repair work with minimal comebacks • Good communication skills are absolutely required – must be able to communicate directly with service advisor and other staff so that customers can be properly informed of necessary repairs. • Must possess excellent time management skills and problem solving skills • Must be a self starter • Must be willing to work as part of a competent and respectful team • Must be willing and able to follow work area cleanliness standards and safety rules/procedures in accordance with OSHA and state regulations. • Must possess a valid CA driver’s license and have a good driving record • High School diploma or equivalent required • Must have good computer skills • ASE certifications are a plus • Must have own tools • Rate of pay will be based upon your ability and experience. PHYSICAL & OTHER REQUIREMENTS: • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds • Must have full body mobility: twisting, turning, and working for extensive periods of time • Must be able to stoop at least four times per vehicle up to six to ten times per hour of work • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time each shift worked • Pre employment drug test/back ground check
