Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants about mental health and substance abuse issues. Made possible by the J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Legacy Endowment COVID protocol COVID screening upon arrival to include temperature check, sign in forms, medical questionsClassroom will be arranged to maintain social distancingMasks will be required for the duration of the trainingIDENTIFY - UNDERSTAND - RESPOND Baptist Health is pleased to present this national and evidence-based training at no charge to the community. Mental Health First Aid empowers community members to identify, understand and respond to risk factors and warning signs of mental health and addiction concerns Participants learn: a 5-step action plan to help someone developing a mental health problem or someone in crisiswhere to turn for support - professional, peer and self-helptopics covered include depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, addiction disordersParticipants earn a three-year certification upon completion. PARKING at Nassau County Council on Aging Please park in the front or on the sides of the building and enter through the main front entrance.
