ABOUT THE BAND: We're recruiting a professional caliber male vocalist for a solid, agent-backed Country Rock, Pop and lighter Classic Rock band to perform on average 2-4 times per month, sometimes more or less depending on the season, primarily in venues and special events that expect higher quality yet affordable bands. Our members may or may not be performing music for a living, which is expected, but they will have enough musical skill and commitment to learn new songs quickly and perform without an excessive amount of rehearsal. We want to have fun by providing a top-notch performance and interacting with our audience and each other. Though our main motivation is having fun, the kinds of musicians that we're looking for will expect a level of quality from themselves and each other that is required for higher paying gigs. There will be a strong emphasis on both male and female lead vocals and harmony, supported by strong instrumentals with a solid groove. We are looking for strong musicians who can learn new songs quickly and are committed enough to come to rehearsal prepared. Music will include a variety of pop/rock, contemporary country & blues tunes from the 1990's to today, along with a handful of older classics that everybody loves so that we have a variety to appeal to current and older generations. Original music is also welcomed and can be included in our set list with approval from the band members. We have already secured a professional agent (www.receptionjazz.com) who represents other high-quality groups in the metro area and have a solid marketing plan. We’ve already got a drummer, bass guitar, lead guitar and lead female vocalist, and are starting rehearsals mid-February, with the goal of performing by approx. April 1, depending on the COVID situation and demand for live music. The rehearsal space is safe & comfortable and will include high quality audio equipment. Our culture will be to work collaboratively as a team of friends with a shared desire for music quality and share responsibilities for both the music and business end of things to fit individual's strengths and preferences. Rehearsal space is in a nicely finished area of the leader’s home, located just north of Hastings, MN. We are looking for a Male Singer who plays Keyboard or Rhythm Guitar We need a professional quality male vocalist with a strong voice and compelling stage presence who knows how to shape a song and entertain the crowd. We also need you to play either keyboard or rhythm guitar, often while singing, and to have solid rhythm. You must be comfortable with either the lead part or harmonies, and as one of the main persons fronting the band, you need to be skilled at engaging with the audience between songs. You must be willing to commit to this group’s gigs as a high priority so that we can build consistency and group cohesiveness, and confidently commit to professional quality opportunities without having to find subs. All or most of us will have full time jobs and certain family commitments, so there will be certain dates that are blocked off the calendar to accommodate members’ needs, within reason. We’re not looking for jobbers who are just looking to fill their schedule without any long-term commitments to rehearsals and performances. Our singers will be supported by solid players who understand the importance of vocals and balanced sound that doesn't cover the vocalists. You'll be able to contribute to song selections that fit your strengths, as long as they fit into the band's style, and we can transpose them to fit your range within reason.
