My mom's personal injury lawyer took her settlement

Everything written here is the truth. 2 years ago my warm hearted mother who's 70, was walking her small dog barely up the road that sits in front of her house in Summerfield. While tending to her dog, standing along the side of the road 150 ft away from her driveway, a much bigger dog with no leash comes from a neighbor's house, running a minimum 100ft to get to my mom's dog. Neighbors dog then pursues to go in attack mode, causing my mom to panic, get tangled up in her dogs leash, then not only just fall, she shattered nearly all the bones in her one arm. Neighbor came out and didn't even offer her any help. In the aftermath, my mom had a dozen surgeries, couldn't use the arm for over a year, and had to withstand the pain of large, metal plates permanently put in her arm. Then her personal injury lawyer promises her a settlement.....then spends 2 years jerking her around, "losing" her injury journal, steering her into using $5,000 of her own money and to use it on hospital expenses. Then just yesterday he had her in his office to say she is awarded nothing because of some ridiculous N.C. law. Which says if the Plaintiff could have prevented the injury, (in this case, her falling) then they wouldn't be awarded a settlement. I know in my heart the lawyers crooked. There's just no way a case like this would ever end like this unless the lawyer was paid off. Problem now is my mom's not looking for a new lawyer or hope or anything to ever come of this. So it's now all up to me. I'd like to talk with an experienced attorney that has a good heart and will help in this horrendous situation. My name is Andrew, i'm her son.
