Job Description We have an immediate opportunity for Machine Operator’s to join us at our diverse team in Amityville, NY. The Machine Operator will be responsible for the machining process in an assembly cell from set-up to testing. Operate and maintain setups of numerically controlled (NC) machining centers to fabricate Wood and Plastic parts by performing the assigned duties. We are willing to train qualified applicants. Job Responsibilities: Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. • Demonstrates a commitment to maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area. Follows safety regulations and actively contributes to work safety. • Follows all standard work, control plans, all processes, and quality guidelines. • Setting up and operating the NC Machining Center. • Demonstrates flexibility in approach and ideas, responds positively and supports changes in procedures, process, technology, responsibility and assignments. • Maintains cooperative and productive working relationships and communications with all employees, participating effectively as a team member or as a team leader. Encourages and assists in self-improvement. • Loading of raw materials and unloading of machined parts. • Cleans and Maintains the Machining Center as per the maintenance specifications. • Verifies the quality and dimensions of work from the Machining Center. • Perform other duties as assigned. Background & Skills The ideal candidate possesses these skills. • High school diploma/(GED); or one to three months computer related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. • Ability to apply logic and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. • Lifting items in excess of fifty lbs. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.
