Yard Spotter/Trailer Mover We are looking for a spotter to join our team. It is full time job for a family-owned business located in Plant City, Fl. We are a distribution company that ships product all over the state. Under the direction of Dispatch and the Shipping & Receiving Managers the spotter is responsible for the movement of the trailers to and from the loading docks as well as the organization of the trailer yard. Must be comfortable moving full length semi-trailers in tight spaces. Duties and Responsibilities • Back empty trailers to loading docks • Pulls out loaded trailers and parks on ready line for outbound drivers • Keeps the yard organized at all times • Performs safety checks on all trailers prior to being loaded • Takes all trailers needing serviced to mechanic shop & assist on any needed repairs • Helps preform preventative maintenance on all equipment ensuring they are in good working order before returning to the fleet. • Follows all safety protocols & works efficiently to ensure there is no traffic back up in the yard. • Work with Dispatch on a daily basis to see which trailers they need moved and backed up. • Assist forklift operators if necessary. • Keeps Dispatch informed regarding conditions on equipment and concerns: contributes suggestions for improvements Requirements and Qualifications • High-energy individual with a strong work ethic • Strong organization and prioritizing skills • Self-motivated with ability to work with limited supervision • Prior experience in a truck is a plus • Yard maintenance or forklift experience
