Description

This job will require the worker to perform tasks involved in excavation, job site cleanup, organization of job parts, operating machinery, power tools, and hand tools. The principal responsibilities will be based around excavation and boring activities as well as the installation of steel purlins related to carport construction. There will also be a need to excavate, form, pour and finish concrete pads to accommodate electrical equipment. May operate hand and power tools of all types, including air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites; dig trenches; excavations support; backfill operations support; decontamination support; traffic control; clean up rubble and debris; and remove hazardous waste materials. May assist other craft workers. Responsible for set-ups and break downs of project sites. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes Clean and prepare construction sites. Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones. Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations in accordance with project plans and specifications. Build and position forms for pouring concrete, and dismantle forms after use, using saws, hammers, nails, or bolts. Clean, paint, and install steel purlins (beams) using screw guns Minimum Qualifications: • One year of industry-related experience. • Must be able to operate construction tools. • Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly. • Must have dependable transportation and valid driver’s license.
