How To Tell A Story Good

Meets

Description

Manipulate your memories until there's nothing left of them, and there is only now, only now. All I have are these fake memories, fake thoughts, fake bits and images and versions of you and me and us. Real but twisted, the truth but not all of it. I'm leaving out the bad bits on the curb; I'm editing and cutting and deleting anything that nears the whole truth. Eventually, it'll be cut down just how I like it, and it'll stick. Then the memory has been molded. You've got to make it mush before it can stand on its own. I tell myself stories to keep on, keep on. So eventually I won't feel so scared when I realize we weren't always on that roof, not always smoking broken cigarettes, and not always drunk in the snow on a Tuesday night.
