Description
Denver refuses to allow homeowners to pull permits to build or work on their own accessory dwelling units (ADUs). A homeowner can permit and build a monster primary dwelling unit, but they can't build a small ADU behind their existing home... makes perfect sense. Because of this code, I'm looking for a GC that would like to work in an advisory role as I build my ADU. To be clear, I want to do the vast majority of the work, but I need a GC license to pull permits and maybe some advice on subs.
Before anyone unleashes hate mail, I know GC's work hard, I know you are professionals and know much much more than I do, I know that if a GC's license is on a permit they are responsible for that project etc. etc. etc. That all being said I also know that someone out there recognizes that this code doesn't make sense and would like to make some easy money for little to no work (and for assuming some small risk). I don't believe there are any rules against this type of arrangement, but please let me know if I'm mistaken. Not asking anyone to break the law.
Thanks for your consideration! Shoot me an email with your info and I'll get back to you.
