Make Delicious Salsa With Chef Marci at Curate Mercantile in Centennial, Colorado and Learn Some Pro Tips Along the Way! Make a Delicious Salsa! Come join us for this hands-on workshop at Curate Mercantile on Saturday, February 27th at 3 p.m. with Chef Marci to learn basic knife skills, handling, maintenance and safety, all while making a delicious homemade salsa that you can replicate again and again. We will practice the fundamental cuts so you can slice and dice with confidence. Takeaways include homemade fresh salsa in a vintage glass jar, recipe for classic salsa and countless tips and tricks for excellent knife skills. Please bring your own chef knife and a large wooden or plastic cutting board. For proper knife safety, it’s best to transport your knife in a knife case, knife bag, or wrap your knife in a towel and tape securely, ensuring the knife tip is completely covered. Each attendee will have their own workspace to allow for social distancing and facemasks are required. This workshop is limited to six attendees and is expected to sell out, so please reserve your spot as soon as possible. WHEN: Saturday, February 27th from 3-4:30 p.m. PRICE / MATERIALS: $39 per person for instruction, salsa and recipe ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR: After earning a Bachelor of Science in Education, Marci honed both her culinary and baking and pastry arts skills at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York and St. Helena, California. She moved on to run the culinary arts and catering programs at a Denver charter high school for at-risk youth. Looking for a change in scenery, Marci went on to work for the United States Antarctic Program as an executive chef, cooking for science and support staff at the research stations. Marci has worked for Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill as their corporate chef, focusing on recipe and menu development before working for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association running their recipe development process and test kitchen. Marci’s passion for culinary arts was nurtured by her mother and grandmother at an early age. She continues to delight in sharing the food experience with her family and friends. When she’s not in the kitchen, she’s can be found spending time outdoors exploring Colorado and enjoying cultural events. CANCELLATION POLICY: Curate Mercantile workshops are built around solopreneurs, makers and small business owners. We are committed to offering you an amazing and fun experience, so we need your help to make our community work. Most events must meet an established minimum set by the workshop host to move forward. If the minimum is not met 72 hours in advance of the event start time, the event will be automatically canceled and all registered guests will be refunded to their original form of payment.
