Be able to work weekends and during the weekdays starting some days in the morning and others in the afternoon. Sometimes working over 8hours at night. The floor technician is responsible for the floor maintenance in process such as floor waxing, floor polishing, grout cleaning, pressure cleaning and carpet of clients' facilities. Essential Job Functions: English and Spanish language (could be intermmediate). Cleans and maintain hard surface and carpets. Scrubs, shine, clean and repair carpeted and non-carpeted areas using appropriate equipment and chemicals. This job requires the use of specialized, power equipment. Operates carpet extractors, waxers, buffers, and scrubbers. Obeys all safety requirements and procedures at all times. Performs preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use. Secures the work area and post proper safety notices for other users of the space prior to beginning work. Makes sure that while they clean, they take care of all precautions so as not to cause any injuries to people walking on the floors or even themselves. Floors care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing on hard surface floors and stairwells. Vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting and extracting carpets, stairwells and upholstery. Periodic cleaning of the above as assigned by supervisor. Maintenance of floor care equipment Other janitorial duties as assigned such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, cleaning. Other duties as assigned.
