SALEM, MA — Appointments for the regional Salem State University coronavirus vaccination site will now be released each Saturday for the following week. The site, which is open to vaccine-eligible residents from Beverly, Danvers, Marblehead, Salem and Swampscott, was filling slots on a rolling basis as supply became available. That was resulting in short notification windows when appointment links would go "live" and left out those who were not frequently near a computer. Starting this week, links for all available appointments for the following week will post at noon each Saturday. The mass vaccination site at Danvers uses a similar system where weekly appointment slots are made available on Thursdays. The link can be found here. "The number of available appointments and clinic days will vary each week depending on the availability of vaccine doses from the state," community officials said. "As additional groups of residents become eligible to receive the vaccine, additional clinic days will be added." There were two Salem State clinics offered this week on Wednesday and Friday. Currently, only state residents eligible under Phase One of the vaccination rollout and those 75 years old and older, along with one companion or caregiver, are eligible for appointments. Residents are urged only to make one appointment and not make an appointment if they are not eligible. Did you find this article useful? Invite a friend to subscribe to Patch.
