Man Charged With 6th OUI After Road Rage Incident In Reading

READING, MA — A Maine man is facing his sixth drunken driving charge after a road rage incident in I-95 in Reading, state police said. David Peck, 57, of York, was behind the wheel of an Acura driving erratically on the southbound side behind a group of plow trucks clearing the roadway after Sunday's snowstorm, police said. The Acura crashed into another vehicle multiple times, then fled the scene after the trucks exited at Exit 53, state police said. The car was then seen speeding before it crashed into the center median guardrail and came to a rest in a snow bank, police said. Peck was uninjured but showed signs of intoxication, police said. He tried to start his car to leave the scene and continued to resist after troopers removed him from the car, police said. Peck was charged with operating under the influence of liquor – sixth offense; resisting arrest; leaving the scene of a property damage crash; reckless operation of a motor vehicle; operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license; and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. His bail was set at $2,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Salem District Court.
