MIDDLETOWN, CT — Two Middletown businesses were recently named winners of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce's 11th Annual Small Business Awards. LABCO Welding, Inc. was named Manufacturer of the Year, while Amato's Toy & Hobby took home honors for Retail Business of the Year. Tom Bryne, chairman of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, also announced the following winners: Business of the Year Award (1-30 Employees) Lino's Market, Inc., Durham Business of the Year Award (31-plus Employees) Arborio Corporation, Cromwell Business Growth & Expansion Award William J. Petzold Inc. & Petzold's Chester Boat Basin, Portland & Chester Minority Owned Business of the Year ProShield Glass Tinting, Southington Non-Profit of the Year Gilead Community Services, Inc., Middlesex County Outstanding New Business Under 5 Years Sweet Jean's Café, East Hampton Tourism/Hospitality Business of the Year Westbrook Inn Bed & Breakfast, Westbrook "We are very proud of our 2021 Small Business Award winners who were all nominated by their fellow chamber members," Chamber President Larry McHugh said.
