Pick up your kit! Dr. Laura Bates, author of 2016 Community Read Shakespeare Saved My Life,will be the keynote speaker for the 2021 Big Read. Entering the 20th Community Read program, she will be celebrating the importance of the program while highlighting the universal appeal of Shakespeare's work. Station Eleven's characters come to the same conclusion when they decide to perform the works of the Bard while traveling from community to community. This presentation will tie together the works of Shakespeare, Dr. Bates' experience teaching in prisons, and our 2021 Big read.
