BOWIE, MD — Ronald Smith, a teacher at Bowie High School, was named one of the best new technology education instructors in the state. Prince George's County Public Schools announced the honor on Feb. 3. The New Teacher Award of Excellence comes from the Technology and Engineering Educators Association of Maryland. TEEAM gives this recognition to educators who have less than three years of experience and demonstrate a well-rounded teaching style. Three other PGCPS employees also won awards. Technology Education Leadership Award Kenyatta Lewis-WhiteCareer and Technical Education coordinator for PGCPS High School Teacher Excellence Award Tanya RigginsTech-ed teacher at Frederick Douglass High School Best Practices in Virtual Teaching Guy-DixonConsumer Services teacher at Crossland High School TEEAM will present the honors at its virtual banquet on Feb. 18.
