PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton police said they charged a township man with bias intimidation and making terroristic threats on Tuesday. According to police, between 12:45p.m. and 1:48 p.m. on Tuesday, Byung Yu, 50, went to various locations around town and exhibited erratic and harassing behavior. Police said he displayed similar behavior in surrounding towns. He was taken into custody by Lawrence Township Police Department later that day. Princeton police charged Yu with three counts of bias intimidation and one count of terroristic threats. Meanwhile Lawrence Police said they charged Yu with criminal mischief for vandalizing a Black Lives Matter Sign and injuring an officer in Lawrence Township while eluding arrest. He was charged with eluding, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstructing the administration of law and criminal mischief by Lawrence police. Police said they responded to the CVS store at 2971 Brunswick Pike Lawrenceville, Tuesday on a report of a man acting erratically and harassing customer. Yu was driving a 2017 Honda Accord and when officers tried conducting a vehicle stop, he failed to comply and continued to elude officers in an unsafe manner on Brunswick Pike, police said. Yu was later apprehended by officers a short distance away on a residential street. During the apprehension a Lawrence officer sustained an injury, said police. Later while investigating, police said they identified Yu as the suspect captured on a surveillance video vandalizing a resident's Black Lives Matter sign in Lawrenceville earlier that day.
