My fiancée and I took him in through some friends because they found him in a box at a parking lot. Scooter is about a 30 maybe 35 lbs. dog. He is up to date on everything and has been nurtured. I will ask anyone who would like to adopt him, to think about it first. Here's why: he is crippled at his rear end. While he has full function of his body and boule movements, he lacks the fine motor skills in his rear legs. With the vets opinion and thoughts on him, he checks out and is perfectly healthy and fine. She thinks it is something neurological with him, maybe being separated to soon at birth or an accident when he was very young pup. My fiancée and I already have cat and two dogs that are a lot bigger then Scooter. While he gets along with all of them just fine, we think he needs a better home that is willing to give a little more time and better focus. He is okay on house training, he has accidents more often then most, because he can't get up to make it to the door due to the tile or hard wood being to smooth for him. Its hard to explain his legs in detail, but I will be willing to send a video to whom ever asks. He also will prefer to stay outside because he knows he has better traction on grass/dirt, unless its cold. My fiancée and I both don't want him in a shelter cause of his legs, but we work to much to keep up with him and it affects him more then we would like. We want him to go somewhere better with someone who will maybe only be wanting one dog or will have more time to aid him when needed. He enjoys people company, other cats and dogs, and sleeping! We thought over this COVID time frame and having to telework that we could make it work, but where finding out that we don't have the time with our other two pups. I will be willing to do a meet and greet with person or other pups if asked. No charge either for Scooter, we would just like him to be in a good home.
