Description
CRANSTON, RI — The coronavirus vaccination effort is ramping up across Rhode Island, and Cranston is getting ready to make sure residents are informed and ready when doses become available. At this time, the state is focusing on getting vaccine appointments to residents aged 75 and older.
Like many other communities, Cranston is creating a city-level vaccine waiting list. Residents can sign up online.
Mayor Kenneth Hopkins said he is "excited" about the vaccine rollout effort in the city, and that he will work hard to make sure vaccines are distributed to Cranston residents equitably.
Cranston residents will receive their vaccines at the regional vaccine site, East Greenwich's Swift Community Center on Pierce Street.
The city is also looking for volunteers to help staff vaccine clinics. Anyone interested can sign up on the city's website.
